  2. What Is IvoView?

  5. IvoView is the coooolest screensaver of them all. It was the very first
  6. NEXTSTEP thing Ivo and I did, back when the first NeXTdimensions came
  7. out. We filmed Ivo's head, and captured via the ND, I doodled on it,
  8. then we modified "Globe" to show Ivo's demonic spinning head instead
  9. of the nice blue and green earth.

  11. If you have NEXTSTEP and color, this thing is a must. It looks best on
  12. 32bit hardware (which is why I haven't played with it since I left
  13. my ND behind until I got a #9GXE64 on a Pentium) but should look OK
  14. on 16bit hardware with the new modifications. I also added some
  15. stuff to bring it up to date with the latest BackSpace (it was written
  16. with the original BackSpace in mind).

  18. Download it, play with it, and scare your kids/parents/loved ones. ;-).
  19. Or better yet, plug it into your ND and put it on a big projection
  20. screen at christmas, er, Halloween ;-).

  38. 1) lightened the images so they can be better viewed (esp. on 16bit)
  39. 2) added an inspector
  40. 3) added settable frames/second
  41. 4) LZWed all the TIFFs which saves a couple megs of disk space

  50. This is a disturbing screen saver that I made, using the code from GlobeView.
  51.  
  52. All I did was to change the name of some variables, and supply the animation.
  53.  
  54. Ivo supplied the video camera, and the head.
  55.

  57. If the images are too big for you (they are 32 bit colour) just open the
  58. Ivo.anim file by double clicking. This will open it in Icon.app. Choose
  59. "Save Animation As" from the Image menu cell. Choose 12 bit, or 4 bit or
  60. 2bit from the Save dialogue, and it will save the animation in that format,
  61. and save you some space.

  64. To make, just type make on the command line. You can move the IvoView.o 
  65. and Ivo.anim into the BackSpace directory by hand, or try 'make install'
